Dopo un giugno freddo e piovoso, pensavamo di entrare nella solita estate degli ultimi anni, con l'anticiclone delle Azzorre dominante e persistente, protettore di giornate e giornate calde, serene e tendenti ad inaridire terra e fiumi.
Invece in questa prima decade di luglio a Marradi abbiamo avuto già tre temporali che hanno sciacquato una vegetazione già prepotente e invadente di fogliame che copre i nostri crinali di una manto verde uniforme e compatto ed erba che invade prode, terrappieni,campi e giardini.
A fine giugno i castagneti e le paline erano pieni di galletti (cantharellus cibarius) e oltre la linea dei faggi anche qualche porcino (boletus) ha ricompensato la fatica dei cercatori di funghi. Ora tutti speriamo di poter trovare porcini anche a quota 500, fra castagni e querce, perché gli acquazzoni di questa settimana con l'aria umida e immobile fanno ribollire la terra e ben sperare.
Quest'estate, che vede il nostro fiume e molti torrenti ancora ricchi d'acqua, è anche di buon auspicio per un'abbondante raccolta di marroni, la nostra specifica e speciale ricchezza locale.
